The Alchimy story began in 2012, when Laurent Miquel, formerly a business owner in the bathroom furniture industry, embarked on an ambitious new venture: transforming the long-abandoned building at 10–12 Place du Palais, in the heart of Albi. Once home to a notary's office and left vacant for over twenty years, the building became the foundation of an exciting new chapter.

Joined by his nephew Nicolas and his niece Laura, Laurent opened the doors of L'Alchimy in September 2014. Originally conceived as a brasserie, the establishment quickly evolved with the opening of an elegant 4* boutique hotel, creating a unique destination where refined hospitality and warm conviviality come together.

A few years later, the adventure took on a new dimension with the arrival of Adrien Cagnelle. Together, the four partners combined their complementary talents and shared passion to continue shaping The Alchimy. Their vision led to the expansion of both the hotel and restaurant, the creation of the Speakeasy Bar, and the development of dedicated seminar and event spaces.

Today, L'Alchimy has become one of Albi's landmark destinations, renowned for its warm welcome, exceptional service and authentic hospitality. This success is above all the result of the dedication of a loyal and passionate team who, for more than ten years, have helped write the story of The Alchimy every single day.
